The best season of Kaziranga National Park are between November and April. The Park is open daily from 1st November to 30th April i.e., for 6 (six) months, unless due to the rains in any exceptional year the park has to be closed earlier by the management for safety reasons. Park remains open partially on the months of October and May and remains closed for tourists during June to September.
Elephant rides: Elephant rides are available from 1st November to 30th April. First ride is from 5.15am to 6.15 am and Second ride is from 6.30am to 7.30am from November to April.
Jeep safari: Jeep Safari available from 1st November to 30th April and could be possible subject to weather and road condition on the months of May & October. Jeep Safari is from 7.30am to 9.30am & 2pm to 3.30pm.

Kaziranga National Park hosts two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses, is a World Heritage Site. According to the census held in March 2018 the rhino population in Kaziranga National Park is 2,413. Kaziranga is also home to the highest density of Royal Bengal Tigers among protected areas in the world and is a Tiger Reserve in 2006. The park is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. Kaziranga is recognized as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International for conservation of avifaunal species. When compared with other protected areas in India, Kaziranga has achieved notable success in wildlife conservation. Kaziranga is a vast expanse of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, criss-crossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, and the park includes numerous small bodies of water. Kaziranga contains significant breeding populations of 35 mammalian species One-Horned Rhinoceros, wild Asiatic water buffalo, and eastern swamp deer. Significant populations of large herbivores include indian elephants, gaur and sambar. Small herbivores include the Indian muntjac, wild boar, and hog deer. Kaziranga has the largest population of the Wild water buffalo anywhere accounting for about 57% of the world population. Other felids include the jungle cat, fishing cat, and leopard cat. Small mammals include the rare hispid hare, Indian gray mongoose, small Indian mongooses, large Indian civet, small Indian civets, Bengal fox, golden jackal, sloth bear, Chinese pangolin, Indian pangolins, hog badger, Chinese ferret badgers, and particoloured flying squirrel. Nine of the 14 primate species found in India occur in the park. Prominent among them are the Assamese macaque, capped and golden langur, as well as the only ape found in India, the hoolock gibbon. Kaziranga's rivers are also home to the endangered Ganges dolphin. It is home to a variety of migratory birds, water birds, predators, scavengers, and game birds. Birds such as the lesser white-fronted goose, ferruginous duck, Baer's pochard duck and lesser adjutant, greater adjutant, black-necked stork, and Asian openbill stork migrate from Central Asia to the park during winter. Riverine birds include the Blyth's kingfisher, white-bellied heron, Dalmatian pelican, spot-billed pelican, Nordmann's greenshank, and black-bellied tern. 10 Birds of prey include the rare eastern imperial, greater spotted, white-tailed, Pallas's fish eagle, grey-headed fish eagle, and the lesser kestrel. Families of birds inhabiting Kaziranga include the great Indian hornbill and wreathed hornbill, Old World babblers such as Jerdon's and marsh babblers, weaver birds such as the common baya weaver, threatened Finn's weavers, thrushes such as Hodgson's bushchat and Old World warblers such as the bristled grassbird. Other reptiles include fifteen species of turtle and snakes are home to Kaztranga National Park.
People taking a Kaziranga Tour generally club their tour with either Meghalaya or Arunachal Pradesh. A short Meghalaya and Assam Tour Package generally takes 4 Nights and 5 days. But if you include want to include Kaziranga National Park along with Meghalaya and Assam tour then it is better to make plan at least 7 Night 8 Days. For Assam Trip with Arunachal Pradesh it takes minimum of 8 Nights 9 Days. But if you are adding Kaziranga then it is better for an at least 10 Night 11 Days. Both Kaziranga and Manas are National Parks and are UNESCO Natural World Heritage site, a Project Tiger reserve, an elephant reserve and a biosphere reserve in Assam and a must see in Assam Trip. Kaziranga is about 200 Kms east of Guwahati city and on the south of the Brahmaputa River while Manas is137 kms to the North West. Though both the parks are very rich in animals like One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tigers, Elephants. Kaziranga offers one Elephant safari and 4 Jeep Safari tours Kohora (central) Range, Bagori (western) Range, Agaratoli (eastern) Range, Burapahar (ghorakati) Range. Lot of accommodation is available at Kaziranga National Park depending upon your budget from star luxury accommodations to even suit backpackers. Manas has only one Jungle safari available. Manas does not have much of hotels with 4-5 accommodations and are a little highly priced.
