Had a wonderful one-day Sundarbans trip with a private boat arranged just for us. The food served during the trip was tasty, fresh, and very satisfying. The car driver, he was punctual, courteous, and very experienced. Overall, a smooth, comfortable, and well-managed trip that we truly enjoyed.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT?
Unlike most national parks, Sundarbans National Park remains open year-round. However, the peak tourist season is from September to March when the weather is pleasant and crocodiles can be seen basking on riverbanks. October to March is ideal for tours, but summer offers better chances of spotting animals near water bodies.
WHAT ARE THE PARK ENTRY CHARGES?
As of 01/01/2026, entry charges for a single-day Sundarbans tour covering Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali, and DoBanki Watch Towers are Rs 500 (Indians) and Rs 2000 (non-Indians) for boat entry and guide. Guide fees are Rs 500 for Indians and Rs 1000 for non-Indians. The same rates apply for Bonnie Camp and Kalash Island. Charges for Nethidhopani Watchtower, located in the core area, are double. Rates may vary during peak season. Local guides, usually villagers, have good jungle knowledge and speak Bengali and Hindi. For fluent English-speaking guides, separate booking is required.

The latest estimates show a rise in the tiger population in the Indian Sundarbans, with the count reaching 106 in 2026, up from 88 in 2018–19, according to the West Bengal Forest Department. However, spotting a Royal Bengal Tiger in the wild remains rare, though not impossible.

Detailed Itinerary Sundarban 1 One Day Tour Trip From Kolkata
5.00 Am: Single or 1(One) Day Tour To Sundarban starts from your hotel/ home by AC Car/Van. Three and half hours of drive to Godkhali, the last road point in Mainland.
8.30 Am: Board the boat, here you are welcomed by our crew with welcome drinks, breakfast and tea will be served on your cruise to reach Sajnekhali.
9.00 Am: After getting the Entry Permission & Guide we head off into the vast Sundarban forest for our rendezvous with one of the biggest mangroves of the world, rich in flora and fauna. This boat cruise will ring this period we will visit 2 watch towers, namely Sajnekhali & Sudhanyakhali. Sajnekhali Watch Tower is most popular watch towers in the park. The reason behind its popularity is tourist can obtain the permission to enter the national park from this spot only. The major attractions are Bono Bini Temple, Mangrove Interpretation Center and turtle project. This watch tower you can see avifauna species such as Pelican, Kingfishers, Plovers, Lap Wings, White Bellied Sea Eagle, Whimbrel, Curfews, and Sandpipers. Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower: Most of the tigers are sighted from this tower. Some other wildlife like deers, wild boars and crocodiles are commonly seen from this watch tower. There is a sweet water pond where animals come to drink water. Behind the pond are stretches of land devoid of any vegetation where one can sight animals in the clearings.
2.00 Pm: Lunch will be served during the cruise. Later Cruising the small channels and creeks we will try to spot different wildlife, spotted dear, wild boars, civet cat, monitor lizard, crocodiles, dolphins and of course the tigers and diverse types of birds.Boats are equipped with clean western and Indian style toilets.
4.00 PM : Return to Godkhali the car and start for Kolkata.
8.00 PM : Reach Back to Kolkata Drop at Hotel/Home/Airport/Station. With this we end the one day trip to Sundarban from kolkata.

It was recent visit to Sunderban via jharkhali. The experience was beyond of expectations with charming hospitality with a selected place to visit to enjoy the thrilling experience of forest visit in the short timespan like a weekend.
