Sundarban is about 3 hours by land and then another 1& 1/2 hours boat ride to the closest watchtower in the buffer area of the jungle. You should start as early as possible to cover the more time inside the jungle in a One day trip to Sundarbans . We provide tea/coffee and refreshments, meals so you need not waste time on the way. Our boats will be equipped with mineral water jars so please do not carry water bottles with you. Also the Sundarbans are strict plastic free Zone so do not carry any plastics carry bags. ​Highlight of One Day Trip To Sundarban National Park

Drive through the lush green countryside of rural Bengal with paddy fields all along the route. Enjoy a hot Bengali breakfast on arrival at the Jetty after boarding the cruise boat. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while enjoying the gentle river breeze cruising along the backwaters with view of the local people doing their daily chores in the river like fishing or on the banks grazing cattle. You will reach the jungle after 1.5 hours and arrive at Sajneykhali Watch Tower where you will get your permits to enter the jungle and get your guide assigned by the forest department. In the Sajneykhali watch tower you will see the Mangrove interpretation center, Crocodile farm, Turtle germination and Bono Bibi Mandir. After that you cruise along the narrow creeks to sight the birds, crocodiles and animals along the river banks. Then you reach the Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower from where most tigers and other animals are sighted as there are artificial ponds where animals come to drink water. In the meantime enjoy your lunch prepared on the boat by local women who accompany you in the trip to serve you hot delicious meals. After that you start your return towards Godhkhali and enjoy a late afternoon tea with cookies. Once you reach the jetty you board your car and start your journey back to Kolkata to complete your one day tour to Sundarbans.

As of 15/04/2024 For a single day tour to Sundarbans covering Sajnekhali, Sudhayakhali & DoBanki Watch Towers the entry charges are as follows. Boat Entry & Guide charges To Jungle Rs 500 for Indians & Rs 2000 for Non Indians. Per Head Entry Charges for Indians is Rs 100 & Rs 200 for Non Indians. Guide Charges Is Rs 500 for Indians and for Non Indians It is Rs 1000/-. For Bonnie Camp and Kalash Island the same charges apply. For Nethidhopani Watchtowers which is only watchtower inside the core area all the charges are double. These charges sometimes changes due to peak season so you can call us before planning Sundarban tour package.
**Sundarban tour guide are local villagers with some extent of communicating in English but lot of knowledge about the jungle & animals. But the guides are not very competent in any other language that Hindi & Bengali. If you are looking for a professional guide with knowledge of English then you need to book one separately.

HOW CAN I GO FOR SUNDARBAN TOUR PACKAGES FROM KOLKATA?

By Train- From Kolkata you can go to Sunderbans by a train till Canning (1 Hours) from Sealdah Station In Kolkata, and then take road transport till Godhkhali (1 Hours). From Godkhali you need to cross ferry and reach Gosaba Town (30 Minutes). From there you need to take a auto van or mechanized rickshaw van for about 45 minutes to reach Pakhirala Village where accommodation is available in various resorts & Lodges. Alternately from Canning you can take Bus, Auto or shared Jeep transportation to Jharkhali where you will find accommodation. If you are travelling by train remember these trains are public transports and does not have any reservation systems or any 1st class or 2nd class compartments. These are suburban daily commute trains for lakhs of people who come and return to the City regularly for employments & other requirements. Sometimes they tend to get overcrowded and becomes very unpleasant for tourists.

By Road- There are two popular roads connecting to Sundarban. One via Baruipur Canning which is about 100 kms from Kolkata and takes about 4 hours drive due to heavy traffic. The other road is via Basanti Highway which is longer distance but the traffic is low hence the journey time is little less. So if you want to approach Sundarbans Via Godkhali you will be dropped there and take the same ferry & land route to Pakhirala. However if you want to go to Jharkhali you can directly reach there by driving your car.

The Sundarbans forest is home to many rare and globally threatened wildlife species such as the estuarine crocodile (Crocodilus porosus), royal Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris), Water monitor lizard (Varanus salvator), Gangetic dolphin (Platinista gangetica), and olive ridley turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea). Sundarban sightseeing does include sightings of animals and birds, but cruising in the Sundarban houseboat along with the sea food give you an awesome experience of the nature in its purest form.

​​​​​5.00 Am: Single 0r 1(One) Day Tour To Sundarbans starts from your hotel/ home by AC Car/Van. Three and half hours of drive to Godkhali, the last road point in Mainland India.

8.30 Am: Board the boat, here you are welcomed by our crew with welcome drinks, breakfast and tea will be served on your cruise to reach Sajnekhali. After getting the Entry Permission & Guide we head off into the vast Sundarban forest for our rendezvous with one of the biggest mangroves of the world, rich in flora and fauna. This boat cruise will ring this period we will visit 2 watch towers, namely Sajnekhali & Sudhanyakhali. 

Sajnekhali Watch Tower is most popular watch towers in the park. The reason behind its popularity is tourist can obtain the permission to enter the national park from this spot only. The major attractions are Bono Bini Temple, Mangrove Interpretation Center and turtle project. This watch tower you can see avifauna species such as Pelican, Kingfishers, Plovers, Lap Wings, White Bellied Sea Eagle, Whimbrel, Curfews, and Sandpipers. 

Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower:  Most of the tigers are sighted from this tower. Some other wildlife like deers, wild boars and crocodiles are commonly seen from this watch tower. There is a sweet water pond where animals come to drink water. Behind the pond are stretches of land devoid of any vegetation where one can sight animals in the clearings. 

Cruising the small channels and creeks we will try to spot different wildlife, spotted dear, wild boars, civet cat, monitor lizard, crocodiles, dolphins and of course the tigers and diverse types of birds. Lunch will be served on return to resort at 3.00 pm. Boats are equipped with clean western and Indian style toilets.

4.00 PM : Return to Godkhali the car and start for Kolkata.
8.00 PM : Reach Back to Kolkata Drop  at  Hotel/Home/Airport/Station. With this we end the one day trip to Sundarban.
